What to expect from custom framing

If you're new to custom framing, Providence Picture Frame is the best place for you to start out. We've been here since 1879 and we've built our reputation on giving great advice, doing great work, standing behind everything we do and building relationships with our customers that in many cases have lasted generations.

The other thing that's makes us different from other frame shops is that we don't work on commission, so we have absolutely no incentive to upsell you into something that you just don't need. This is something that a lot of other frame shops, particularly the big chain stores do. You won't find that here. This is not just a summer job for us. We've made our careers here. We have people who have been here for over 40 years, so we have deep institutional knowledge, so you're safe if you come to Providence Picture Frame, and you're not sure if custom framing's right for you. This is the best stop.

We do everything from children's artwork to portraits to very expensive collections, museum collections, and of course, hotels, restaurants, all over the world. So whatever your needs are, we can satisfy that here because there's different ways to frame different types of artwork. Each piece of artwork, each type of artwork has its own sensitivities that we need to be aware of, and we'll let you know what those sensitivities are and walk you through it and explain why we're coming up with the solutions that we're coming up with. We have a lot of different ways to treat artwork from a framing perspective. We have custom framing samples on the wall, over a thousand of them. We have hundreds of matte samples. We also have readymade frames. Your piece is a size and a style that actually could work in one of our readymade frames. Again, we're interested in you coming back. We're interested in building a relationship with you and earning your trust.

You will not find better designers, better craftspeople than right here under this roof, and all work is done right here. Another differentiator between us and some of the big chain stores where work is sent to central processing facilities somewhere else in the country, everything's safe. It stays here, and you're supporting local artists and craftspeople who have been doing this for generations.
