Back in the 1800’s, Providence Picture Frame was also a photographic portrait studio – using sunlight shining through the glass roof of the historic Arcade building, our original location, to expose its prints. In keeping with that tradition, we offer full-service editing, restoration, digital printing and related digital art services.
Combining high-quality printing and framing solutions under one roof made as much sense then as it still does today.

Printing and ink/pigment technology is always improving, so we study the industry and constantly introduce new technology to have the most advanced equipment and training possible for our staff. Whether you’re a professional photographer or just need prints made from your phone, every print we make is produced on our archival giclée printers so they will stand the test of time.PAPERS & SUBSTRATES
Everything we print on is archival, and we pay attention to industry trends to ensure cutting-edge quality. Prints can be made on a variety of substrates. We regularly stock the following:Epson Enhanced Matte Paper: Bright white paper with a matte finish. The paper yields highly saturated images, while maintaining highlight and shadow detail.
Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper: A resin-coated medium with a thickness which provides a durable photo feel. This instant drying paper produces vivid, lifelike images and delivers highly saturated prints.
Epson Cold Press Bright Archival Paper: A 100% cotton rag media, this acid-free paper features a bright textured finish and yields prints with a wide color range and deep blacks. Great for pristine watercolor reproduction.
Hahnemüle Fine Art
Velvet Watercolor
Epson Exhibition Canvas Matte Archival Paper: An archival canvas paper with heavy weight and thickness, making it suitable for gallery and museum-quality prints. It yields deep blacks and a wide color spectrum.

Giclée production service for artists:
Bring in your work, and we’ll photograph it, color balance the file to your original work, then it can be digitally reproduced on the substrate of your choice.
Digitizing Negatives, Slides, Videos, and more:
Smaller photographs, slide and negative reproduction is all done in house.
For larger and more complex jobs, we are Rhode Island’s EverPresent partner. EverPresent is a New England based company that specializes in helping you digitize, organize, and share your memories. We LOVE these folks because, like us, they go the extra mile to take care of their customers and their memories. Contact EverPresent to discuss your project, and then simply drop your work off at Providence Picture Frame, and pick it up here when it is ready. Easy.

File Formats: Flattened TIFF, jpeg, png, pdf, and Adobe files (.psd, .ai, .indd)
Resolution: Images for print should ideally be a minimum of 300 dpi. For best results, your files should be the same size you would like to have them printed. For example, if you want a 12x12” print, the file size should be 12x12” at 300dpi.
We do not accept copyrighted images that do not belong to you.

Click the “UPLOAD FILES” button below to open the form. Once completed, you’ll receive a link to upload your files via WeTransfer.
