Providence Picture Frame and Dryden Gallery is looking for an experienced art installer to add to our team. This is a well-paid and dynamic position.
This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, precise measuring skills, be safety conscious, and have a strong sense of composition and design. A typical installation may involve working with anyone from a home owner or office worker with limited design skills, to working with some of the most experienced interior designers in the region. Often you will be working alone, but you may also be working with other team members of our installation team on more complicated or large-scale installation jobs.
Pay is typically $18-$20/hour based on experience. Paid vacations and a company-matched retirement plan are included. Since installations are scheduled on an as-needed basis (typically 10-20 hours per week), this is a part-time position with flexible hours. This is a great role for creatives, parents, service professionals, seasonal professions, educators, etc. as it allows for flexibility and is a well-paying part time job that offers employee benefits.
If you are looking for more hours: art installers are often a great addition to our custom framing production area, art handling (crate building and shipping), as a frame designer on our sales floor, or with our gallery as a preparator. All employees working over 32 hours per week are eligible for healthcare benefits and increased paid vacations. Experience is preferred (relative or direct), but we are always willing and happy to train the right candidate. All training will take place in our North Providence location.
Art Installers must have a good driving record and be able to pass a background check. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should be comfortable driving cargo vans, working on ladders, and be physically able to lift heavy art and objects with care.
